Scrivener has been my "go to" software for years. I've highly customized the appearance, auto-complete lists, and fonts, to make it my optimal place to write. While I keep trying other options, like LivingWriter, Novlr, Ulysses, IA Writer, etc. I always come back to Scrivener.
Obsidian is my world-building dumping ground. I keep it on a separate window to swipe back and forth between Scrivener and Obsidian so that I can quickly make a note, add a character, describe a location, and swipe back.
This keeps me locked into the story within Scrivener. While I could put world-building elements in Scrivener, it's easier to dump them in Obsidian, easier to find them later, and keeps me focused on writing, with Scrivener just being for composition.
LivingWriter is a cloud-based software program for writers, allowing you to access your manuscript from any web browser. If you have used Scrivener, this is essentially Scrivener online.
You can add "elements" that then show up in auto-complete, making it easy to build your world within the product.
I'll share more about this on YouTube.
